Obsidian Jewelry was born from a fascination with one of nature’s most extraordinary materials.
Obsidian is formed through the rapid cooling of volcanic lava. It is a natural volcanic glass, shaped by fire, time, and geological processes, distinguished by its exceptional depth of color, distinctive tones, and natural luster.
For thousands of years, obsidian has been valued across cultures for its beauty and unique ability to be shaped into sharp, precisely polished forms. Ancient civilizations used it to create tools, ritual objects, and jewelry. Today, we reinterpret this remarkable natural material through the lens of contemporary luxury.
Obsidian Jewelry captures the natural expression of volcanic stone in refined, contemporary forms.
The Art of Obsidian
From Volcanic Origins to Exceptional Craftsmanship
Every piece begins with the stone itself. Our obsidian is sourced exclusively from the volcanic highlands of Armenia and the Caucasus, a region with a rich and complex volcanic history, where the stone is distinguished by exceptional purity and color consistency.
Each stone is then carefully shaped, cut, and polished by master jewelers with more than twenty years of professional experience.
Obsidian requires a distinctive approach. Unlike traditional gemstones, its beauty lies not only in its brilliance, but also in its depth, subtle natural variations, and unique interaction with light.
For this reason, every cut is designed to highlight the individual character of the stone rather than conceal it.
No two pieces are ever exactly alike.
